Bird’s Nest Dining

Recently I had a wonderful opportunity to share breakfast with my dear friend Lady J. She introduced me to this concept of an underground restaurant, which are restaurants based out of one’s own home. Bird’s Nest Dining is one of those few places here in Vancouver. The owner is a very nice and talented cook whose passion can be seen through her food and her home as well. Tell me as you see the pictures that you wouldn’t gush over a home like that. Totally pinterest/etsy/vintage material.

“Find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it” – Julia Child

I fell in love with the dated music she played.

Friends and strangers would sit around the table, creating conversations and crossing paths that would otherwise not have been possible.

Aside from the communal table, you could also sit by the window and sip tea.

A plate with 5 beautiful elements is served fresh from the kitchen.

I especially loved that runny poached egg that sat on white beans in tomato garlic sauce and goat cheese.

A little pocket of donation for the meal.

Bird’s Nest was definitely a place of happy, cozy feelings. You’ll almost feel like you’re at home.

Looking forward to next time 🙂
